Witnessing Ruby go through the challenges of hair loss due to her medical treatments, and Ruby’s desire to ensure that kids weren’t left behind due to financial hardship has left a lasting impact on her cousin Skye. Skye cares so deeply about the values of the Ruby Tuesday Foundation and in living in the spirit of her cousin Ruby – Skye set herself a challenge to grow and then cut off her hair and donate this so that this could be made into a wig for another child who maybe experiencing the same hair loss. Skye also wanted to raise money for the Ruby Tuesday Foundation which has been set up to honour Ruby’s spirit and to gain support through donations to the Foundation.

Toward the end of August Skye took the first step and cut her hair, she then established a Go Fund Me page with the goal of raising $500 by the 11th September, which would have been Ruby’s 15th Birthday. Gaining support through social media and canvasing friends and family, Skye exceeded her target and successfully raised $630.

What an amazing gesture and outcome and we wanted to thank not only Skye but those that supported her. Skye has been kind enough to share with us some of the pictures.
